Jeff Brinker receives 2011 R&D 100 Award
July 25th, 2011: Two technologies developed by UNM researchers collaborating with the national labs and other universities are among the top 100 high tech products of the year, according to R&D Magazine. The R&D 100 Awards are considered the "Oscars of Innovation".
One award went to veteran researcher Jeff Brinker, Distinguished and Regents’ Professor of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering, for Biomimetic Membranes for Water Desalination, a solution to address the global challenge of clean water. Brinker’s UNM collaborators on the Biomimetic Membranes are Senior Research Scientist Ying-Bing Jiang and post-doctoral researcher Dr. Shaorong Yang, both from the UNM Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences.
The awards will be presented in October at a black-tie gala in Orlando.
