Leseman Receives NSF CAREER Award

September 21, 2011: Zayd Leseman, associate professor of mechanical engineering, has received a National Science Foundation CAREER award to develop methods for modeling and characterizing Phononic Crystals or PnCs. PnCs are a type of micro/nanostructure capable of manipulating the manner elastic waves travel through a material by a periodic patterning of a material's geometry. Leseman is actively involved in the NSMS program and teaching one of the core courses on Microsystems.
